Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 Grand Sport 2009-

    Bugatti Veyron

A new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 shows its open side

A new Bugatti will publicly be displayed for the first time at this year’s Pebble
    Beach Concourse d’Elegance, on August 16th, 2008

Molsheim, France/Wolfsburg, August 1, 2008 – The last preparations are running at full speed. Two more weeks and then Bugatti Automobiles will present their new Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport for the very first time to the public.

It will be a roadster with a unique, removable roof. The open-top Grand Sport allows driver and passenger to feel even closer to the car’s breathtaking power. Those who consider the wind in their hair
and the roar of a thoroughbred racing engine in their ears to be essential to true driving enjoyment will find their perfect motor car in this new Bugatti. Even with the top on the Grand Sport does not loose any of its fascination and conveys to the passenger a new exciting panoramic view. As well as a large number of new equipment features, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport also incorporates innovative structural solutions, designed to ensure the roadster offers the same extremely high levels of performance and passive safety as the coupe version.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be presented to the public in the afternoon of August 16, 2008, at the lawn in front of the Pebble Beach Lodge. The very first build slot for this new car, to be built in
Spring 2009, will be auctioned the next day at the renown Gooding auction at the Equestrian Center at Pebble Beach.

I like the way they are calling it a "new Bugatti"...

I would like to know if this car will be built among the 300 models or if it will add more cars to the total volume

Yeah, next they're going to have a brand new Bugatti with clear taillights instead and its going to be $300,000 more.

So, will the roar of a thourobred racing engine be provided on a CD in the stereo in an attempt to drown out the gargle of the two Audi V8s that power the car?

If you have such a car I doubt you'd understand the meaning of "thourobred racing engine", those are incomprihensible words for the owners. Try sound of "the ball when it's hit by the golf club".

It will be built among the 300, in about 60-70 units according to Edmunds.

I think I read, possibly on this forum that they are having trouble selling the run of 300 and need to make up a bunch of variations to create interest and manage to sell out the run.

What exactly is the point of Bugatti in VAG? I doesn't make money and I don't think it brings any noticeable prestige to the group.

EDIT: Here's an interesting article I found while looking for the profitability of Bugatti.

another attempt to justify the decision NOT to bring out a new model, a decision which cost Mr. Bscher his job...we will continue to see cosmetic updates of the original concept for years to come....

    I think they aren't two Audi's V8 but 4 VW's GTI engines...I'm serious

Well, up to know they sold 220 of 300 cars, with this "exclusive" version they will go very close to the total run so I guess they will come out with another "limited edition" like a "sang rouge" with the bodywork completely covered with rust, and then no more Veyron !!!

    the end is near....

Isn't this just the long awaited and highly anticipated Veyron Roadster? Why Grand Sport?
