on a semi related note, i just read that nascar is drug testing now, and one of the drugs they are testing for is steroids.

i feel like steroids would do nothing but hurt a racecar driver. they dont need too much physical strength, they dont need stuff to assist their recovery time. if anything i think the issues steroids cause with decision making and temperment would probably cause more of a hinderance than an aid for a racecar driver.

How so?

He tested positive in 2003 with the Texas Rangers and there is no proof that he has taken any steroids or performance enhancing drugs since then.

There is still no real proof that he took them anyway. A few people with access happen to contact SI and out of 104 players they only mention Alex? Who are the others? I'll believe it when I see it in an official press release either by Alex, Boras, the Yankees or the MLB.

My answer? WHO CARES?! It was 6 YEARS ago. Guess what? 6 years ago MLB didn't do anything over positive tests in 2003. All this does is bring into further question the late 80s-early 2000s era of baseball. You can't assume anything about anyone from that era any more. As far as its concerned no one is clean. And maybe he won't get into the Hall down the road, much like McGuire or Clemans. It doesn't mean anything. This is only a big deal because he's a Yankees players. I hate the media.
