What the hell is he doing ending up that close to the car in front anyway?

If your close enough to nudge a tow bar your doing something wrong.

I have seen many incidents that happened due to distraction in driving and it happened mainly with youngsters as they are somewhere failed to keep the track of speed and this must be avoided.

Thanks

RE: Dangers of Driving Distracted

Hello, Talking on phone or using cellphones while driving is quite dangerous and its against traffic rules. Little bit distraction while driving can result to major accident. People should be learn driving tips and traffic rules from schools of driving for safe driving. These schools can aware people about safe and sound driving.

Thread revival time, I didn't want to start a whole new thread just for this but I thought I would share: A new Indiana law that went into effect today banning texting while driving. Here's an article (by a friend of mine too) about it

We are the 32nd state to do so and this law includes bans on reading or writing a text even when stopped in traffic or at a light.

Thoughts? Does it go too far?

Nothing is far enough.

Although theoretically it's illegal in NY, I've seen too many people text or use their phone while driving.

And with automakers planning to bring internet into the cars, it's not going to get any better- I'm especially looking at Ford.

Whoever thought that was going to be a good idea anyway?

It may not go far enough. Local governments are slashing budgets and police departments are feeling it... so let's see how enforcement is carried out. What would be better is far simpler: todays phones and EDs all contain devices that can tell when they're moving. Some manufacturers use them in conjunction with an internal GPS, capable of shutting the device down in case it's dropped so any damage
won't cause a loss of data.

So, legislate that manufacturers MUST conform the device to LOCK when moving faster than say, 5 MPH, about a brisk walk or jog.
Good regulation has a place in making things safer.

I hope your passengers never need to make a call while you're driving.

Nein. I vill not permit it.

To clarify, the issue is texting, not talking. All the tech is already in EDs to restrict any function, so why not?

An app will be created soon that reads brain waves, and will know when you believe your driving.

csl you missed out being lifted up in rapture.
Can imagine all the samctimonious gits wanting to text "friends" with

ha-ha I'm on my way sucker !

Anyway, just as we have laws covering knives. Using them safely and sensibly is fine.
A bit of common sense, some decent education and hard punishment for those who cause accidents/injury and small on spot fines for being spotted.

Only problem is it requires police and govermnents to have some common sense and sadly lacking in so many places now

Stuck in non moving traffic and under UK law they can still do you !!
Or stopped at side of road !!! All it takes is one stroppy copper You have to pull in to a place and recommended by lawyer to switch the engine OFF and remove key to remove any chance of a claim that you wre "driving".

Problem with your app , Sledge, I've seen some drivers who CLEARLY are using less brain activity than they do as a couch potato
