Volkswagen Golf R20 Details hit the web

Volkswagen Golf R20 Details Hit Web Before Frankfurt Debut:

Quote:
According to World Car Fans, the R20 will be powered by a pumped-up version of the famous 2.0-liter turbo four, expected to produce 265 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. (Audi TTS, anyone?) Like the R32, the R20 will still run its power to the ground via all-wheel drive and a choice of either the six-speed manual or DSG transmissions. 0-60 times are expected to be around 6.5 seconds (6.4 for the DSG), which isn't terribly impressive, but we'll see what really happens when the R20's tires hit the pavement.

No, it's the Audi S3 for people who can't realise the Leon Cupra R is better than both.

It's got nothing to do with spanish patriotism. More like value for money.

Stop looking at me! Look at me! Stop looking at me!
I like it, I think it'd be a fun little sleeper, sort of like the R34 was but cheaper(hopefully?)

In my opinion front wheel drive is better than four wheel drive. Head to the R8 Spyder thread if you want to know why. Altough yes, 265bhp is probably too much for the front wheels to handle, you are probably better off with the Cupra or even the FR perhaps.

The R34 is a Nissan. The R32 are both VWs and Nissans. There's a discrete difference.

And although the turbo 4 could be lighter than the R32's V6, I liked that it had a small V6 in such a small car.

If they did it like the Renaults and mount it behind the front seats, that'd be awesome. And give it RWD.

Yeah but the Cupra R is ugly, IMO. I know you can't see the car while you're driving it but still I like a good looking car.

It's the Leon Cupra for people who realise what Resale Value is.

How about just a 6-cylinder RWD hatch?

...BMW 130i?
