The worst Holden And Ford Built

Ok Holden's worst would be Commodore 4cyl that was as slow as a granny on crutches lucky most were in tassie bomb bomb bomb.

Fords worst would be AU ugly shape drivetran crap got head aches from hitting the door arch it almost killed ford here so thats why i think thats the worst one.

worst holden, yeah possibly the VC 1.9L starfire. worst ford, i think the Capri convertible might be it. the AU proved to be a sales dud, but it was dynamically sound and had a great IRS as well as other features, as well as being the first locally produced car to come standard with dual front airbags. the exterior was its only real major let down, and it could have done with the 220kw and 250kw engines alot sooner

Worst holden? only one? well ill give my short list HD funny looking at the time and had major issues....The origonal HB torana (but holden cant get much credit for this one) camira all models and without comment....VN being so easy to steal and with major problems...and the vb which had the torsinal ridgedness of a sheet of balsa wood! there was the piazza and some other imports..they where good cars just major flops!
For XL XK falcons....not being hardy enough XFs the early ones had major electrical faults EA falcons for haveing some large quality and parts supply problems...and then you can look international can you say Edsel?
Also the AU jsut looked funny...same thing happend to the HD as fpv said the car had a good driveline.....i dont know where you that from all cosnidering holden is useing an incredibly old 6 speeder that is older then the t5! and has a very long throw unlike the bw item...also the falcon had a faster resposne 0-80 then the ss and got better fuel ecconmy...so i really fail to see where you got the crap driveline from

My info on the AU comes from driving them and riding in them My brothers girlfriend has a AU series 3 it's been in and out of ford with problems and it's not the first one, Knocking in the front end transmission jumping gears and being ruff the rear doesn't feel all that flash. All this after 1000k's It's had a mint spent on it. It's going ok now but it's a hassle. They have more fun and reliability from my brothers 95 fairmont ghia.

4 Cyl Commodore, All Camiras except the last one before they canned it, HB Toranas, 4cyl Toranas, 132/138 motors, HX series.

Ford Cortinas except 6s, Ford Escorts, my brother in law services all makes and his comment is " theres another Ford on the hoist with its head off."

well not all the AU models got IRS standard like the VT. The Forte, Futura, Wagons, Fairmont and XR6 missed out on it and stuck with the live axle with watts linkage

the 4 cylender toranas sold very well in nz...consiting of nearly 60%of commadore sales at the time....
and the 6 cylender cortinas wernt without their faults....they liked to switch ends in adverse conditions....and their front suspension was far too soft...but they went like absolute stink in a straight line....
Eskys pains in the asses to work on as with alot of pommy cars....
I have been in numerous AUs and never experianced these problems...and they mustant of been that prelavent seeing as its not documented....

my dad had a tc cortian he recons it did burnout's like a v8 in stock trim and he also made the thing lift its front end after some mod's (2v heads, duel throat webber, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, and 2x 200ml jets), yet he thinks it was one of the crapest cars he owned. ne way i agree that falcon500 can't put it down to one holden being the crappest

You would think though that the V8's radiator would provide sufficient cooling for the RB30DET, but even the naturally aspirated motor was known to have the odd problem with engine heat because the engine wasnt designed for the VL body. Forget about the price of a rebuild, imagine how much some people have payed for complete replacement engines after theyve realised the problems of sticking 30psi through the stock turbo on stock internals
