Your 3 Favorite Foods

Time for another survey. What are your 3 favorite foods?

Here are mine, in order...

1. Pizza.
2. Chocolate.
3. Steak. But not just any steak. A good cut of steak cooked to perfection.

Can hardly limit to just three as I like any traditional local cuisine from anywhere on the planet, so in no particular order:

Caviar... or any variety of other fish/shrimp eggs included with sashimi/sushi. Any raw fish/shellfish.

Game meats of any kind; domestic meats with knowledge of how they were raised and slaughtered.

Classic charcuterie: pâté, sweetbreads, sausages, cured meats, etc.

Eastern Mediterranean food, particularly Greek and Turkish.

Southern BBQ, slow smoked anything. Skip the sauce.

The world's artisan (unpasteurized) local cheeses.

Any fresh vegetable, simply prepared.

Asian cuisine.

Borscht.

Gelato.

Fruit.

I was reading up on them (and looking at the recipes). The Plov looks pretty good; I would probably like it. Not so sure about the Lagman because I am not a big soup fan.

Where would pizza be on your list? Or would it be on your list?

Lagman Guru is hardly a soup.
Pizza would feature underneath a large piece of smoked salmon.

Lagman, one of the many soul foods built on noodles. Agreed, a far cry from just soup. It is life.

Interesting Henk... did you learn about these dishes from a trip to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan?
One of my middle-eastern favorites is called "Tongue of the Judge", eggplant wrapped around minced meats and grilled.

3. can't narrow it down to just one but here's what comes to mind: Shepard's pie, pizza, hamburgers, shrimp, fish (especially salmon), any kind of sweets (except salt water taffy and licorice), roasted ham, stuffing, broccoli rice and cheese casserole, sauerkraut, fried cauliflower, corn dogs, eggrolls, pork BBQ, most fruit, french toast with plenty of maple syrup, pancakes, breakfast sausage, bratwurst, cereal (that's a list in itself), mozzarella sticks, cheese steaks, calamari, and mushrooms (especially portabella sandwiches)

That is a large third choice list, Cobra! I also had trouble choosing a #3, but I was able to narrow it down. Runners up would be: chicken, salad, hamburgers and rice (I like chinese fried rice a lot but also brown rice and white rice w/butter).

The best lagman can be found in the Kyrgyz Republic, while the Uzbeks make the best plov. Kazakh food is not the best, lots being based on horse meat.
