It looks like steak and pizza are doing quite well. But I'm not surprised.

Does wine count as food? If not:
- a bagette with prosciutto, vintage cheddar and green apple [preferably toasted before applying the apple] - hummous [as long as it's as good as the stuff I make] [I really need a food processor] - thinly sliced fresh chilli and garlic in olive oil [spoon it onto bread]

I'm surprised at the lack of good ol' fashioned home cookin' that hasn't made anyone's choices. Everything sounds fancy and elaborate and seems good because it's supposed to be

It should. Your other choices are the perfect accompaniments too (well, maybe not the hummus).

But Plav, Lagman, steak or pizza and much of the rest mentioned so far are definately home cookin' somewhere.

![]() Our home made pizza was excellent, when we had our home made wood fired pizza oven. Much deliciousness came out of there.

I think I'd put pizza on the list, as long as it doesn't have any of the following on it:
Pineapple (except where the main topping is ham) Any sort of seafood other than anchovies Chicken or Any sort of meat other than something like pancetta or prosciutto I made a pizza last night and the topping was : zucchini (call it courgette if you must) red capsicum spanish onion mushrooms diced pancetta and mozzarella I would have put olives on it too, but there weren't any in the fridge. Served it up with a lettuce and tomato salad. pasta (of just about any sort) with a fairly simple sauce (say just tomato or tomato/capsicum and onion) or no sauce at all - just a bit of olive oil and chopped parsley. And a good quality Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top. I don't like red meat or poultry much, but I love bacon and eggs. Fish: favourite are salmon and barramundi (baked). And any meal has to have some vegetables with it, either steamed or as a salad. And chocolate in any form..... |

I had a real pizza from what seems to be the #1 pizza joint in TO.
I don't recall ever having legitimate pizza before. It was absolutely delicious - Neapolitan style, with Ontario Prosciutto. |

The best pizza I've ever had was, oddly enough, in Edinburgh. It was at Rocco's Italian Restaurant in the Royal Mile, just next to St Giles Cathederal. The pizza was a Margherita on a thin base topped with cherry tomatoes and basil. The restaurant was not busy, in fact the only other people there left not long after we arrived, but then again it was, I think, about 3pm - not a time when restaurants are busy.
My father-in-law makes good pizzas, but I like a thin base on mine and he makes the bases on his pretty thick. One of these days I'll have to try a pizza in Italy - we keep saying we'll have to go there for a holiday, but it hasn't happened yet and, looking at the bank balance, it could be a few years off... |

franfran, have you tried Crust pizza? One opened up just up the road from me recently, they seem pretty good. There's a menu on their site.
