Down by the Pentagon this afternoon I saw a pair of old guys in a 1974 Mercury Cougar. It was a light fawn brown (mine is more of a caramel brown or bronze) with some rust on the rear fenders and it had the same wheelcovers as mine (four wheel styles were offered, but I know the ones I have are pretty rare). I was quite surprised; I haven't seen another 1974-1976 Cougar on the road since I got mine.

Shame. I've seen photos of them, they're quite good looking.

I know the feeling- I haven't seen a second generation Accord in the longest time.

As Rizraven noted, these were also built using Mustang II or Pinto bits, so maybe a V6? If you saw the I6 I'd be curious about that.

I'm familiar with a couple of very authentic Merc roadsters built on ladder frames using W108/111 300S running gear, complete with
cycle-fendered 22" wire wheels and alloy bodies. Neither is representive of any SS or SSK but both look as if they were built in period.
Unfortunately, the Gazelle has none of the proportions right.
I've found and uploaded the vid. I'm not so sure about the engine after watching again, though.

Saw my first SLS on the road today. Parked. In a brownish bronze matte paint. Ugly colour.

I also saw a Mehari (long time since I've seen one here) and a CX 25 Prestige Turbo 2. That's the long "limo" version.

Yesterday, I was driving behind a beige 1990-1991 Chrysler Imperial. I was so engrossed by it that I almost didn't notice what was next to me: a 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda 383 - purple with the white "billboard" graphics.

I didn't get any pictures, but attached are a couple pictures of the 1973 Ford Ranchero Squire I saw a while ago and one picture of the rearranged hood on my mom's Civic.

It was even worse than in the pictures.

A couple of days ago a Datsun 260Z, haven't seen one of those since the '90s, having lived in the midwest for 3 decades, I've seen Japanese Cars deteriorated due to rust. Anyway the one I saw was in good condition except for a slight dent in the rear left fender. But no rust.

Hadn't thought about the size thing, but both probably.

Saw many interesting cars lately.
Weirder where a racing Fornasari Race Buggy on the street with a test plate and a very loud american V8, and a stupid RR Phantom replica on what I think was a Lincoln.

How did that happen?

However, saw my first Audi A1 today. My first reaction was "An Audi A3...meh.", then "Wait a sec" and finally "Oh, it's the new A1". In all honesty, I wouldn't have recognized it as an A1 if it didn't have the two-tone scheme and a huge promotion sticker saying "The A1. The next big Audi." at it's side. All in all rather sad for a brand new car.

I lightly rear-ended a Lexus RX in stop-and-go traffic on the Beltway. I mentioned it on September 13 back when it first happened.
