maserati quattroporte

I am sure the German motor press will find ways to make their cars win any comparitive test with this beauty, but for me on looks only it scores 110 out of a 100 points. Following the modern lingo I am now supposed to say:Maserati rules.

Are you serious? I'd much rather have an M5, based on the looks alone, than a Quattroporte. Not to mention the Quattroporte reminds me of many cars makers, except Maserati itself.

Maybe it's just me who is tired of fast big and heavy sedans...

Well, it scores aobut a 96/100 for me. it's nice, but the front end reminds me too much of a jag, and less of a Maserati. As for the competition with the M5, i think if you wait for the forthcoming M5, i'm sure it'll not be a pretty sight, but i'm sure it's rumoured V10 will be a thing of beauty.

henk4, are you sure the german motor Press will be so biased? oh, wait, stupid question...

..
Just have a look at the A6GSC Pininfarina coupe, it's on the site, which is truly a Maserati great. When I saw a picture of the new car for the first time, I immediately thought of the coupe. Obviously the stylists have been able to make people think of previous Maserati's.
I have seen the new 5 series, and I find it really ugly, the problem with these design's is that the doors are much too high compared to the glashouse. It makes a car look very unelegant. But this is a matter of taste. Probably the new M5 would be able to "smoke" the Q, but that is becoming ever less relevant in a time and age where only in Germany no speed limits exist (and on a limited number of roads only)

And, oh yeah IB4R, the German press is hardly ever biased, only at times when I read their reports.

I would be more interested in the V8 multi-jet, (not for the US market?).

henk4, I was actually thinking about the current M5, not the new one. These new BMW's don't excite me at all...

Because the M5 is my favourite luxo-fast-sedan-with-big engine. I wouldn't consider buying anything else.
