Does anyone know if BMW is planning on bringing back the 8-series. If not it would be a stellar idea.

due to the bad press that the 8 generated at the time, it is not very likely for it to come back anytime soon...
There were too many problems with the car, and those still are in the back of peoples minds.

Which is a shame, cause I love the styling of it.

I'd really love a new 8-series. If Bangles team can get the styling right that is, if they can't, then don't bother BMW.

But of course they would bother. In the name of evoking past glories, they would create an awfully styled(carved?) chunk of metal with flame surfacing and would bring back retractable headlights with "new and radical" erm, circular windscreens.
    Sorry jus kiddin lol.

That wasn't really meant as a replacement for the 8. 8-Series production ended quite some time ago. The new 6 is a long-awaited replacement for the 6-series from the 70's/80's.

The 6er is essentially a 5 series coupe, a new 8 would be a 7 series coupe, similar in nature to the Merc CL class
    Thanks for all the fish
