Nerdy fact #101 ... the video for the Racoon was the first virtual reality production for a car. They showed this car driving through the streets of Paris, down country roads, on beaches etc and the car was NEVER there. VERY futuristic for 1993

    Function over form
It was designed to have VERY short overhand front and rear to go REAL off-road. it also had innovative twin swingin arms front /rear which pivotoed in the venter and coudl be raised for roug terrain and going amphbious.
I't not meant as a tonw car for which it DOES look 'odd'

Concept cars shoudl always be viewed with the 'purpose' of the exercise in mind

the first thing i thought when i saw this cars was "So thats whats its called"
I remember watching this over and over on the SGI demo reel of the time. they showed it driving down various roads and in one shot the car would disappear except for four green taurus representing the tires.

judging by the arab standing in it, this car is made primarily to promote terrorism.
