help-Escort sounds like a ricer.

suddenly I was riding in my dads escort and it sounded like a ricer when accelerating (is very loud)

I thought it was a split exhaust but it is not, can you figure out what it is?

If theres no external holes in the exhaust, maybe the silencer has fallen apart internally?

EDIT: well we're planning to take it to mr. muffler over c'mas break, but of course, I need to make sure that it is the exhaust.

Most likely a part of the exhaust system has rusted and rotted. I can't think of to many other things that could cause excessive noise.
