No matter what the specifications are, it will always work out to $42,657.89 USD

There are hundreds of dependancies
Do you want to 'copy' another design ? If som then you've no design costs to cover.
Do you want perfect body fit and luxurious interior ?
Windows ?
Can the builder use parts from donor vehicles ?

You can build a spaceframe chassis for a few hundred pounds.
BUT to "DESIGN" one from scratch could cost thousands.
Scratch build any castings or use esoteric materials and you're into 10s and 100s of thousands

If this is a project you are thinking of doing. Post what kind of vehicle it's to be.
if it doesn't go on the road then there are LOTS of corners to cut to keep the cposts low ( like the whole engineering design side of it )

Gold.
Can you also then tell me, how long is a piece of string?

TRYING to answer GTR's Q ... ..... by "copy" do you mean you just want it to look like one on the outside ? For example you coudl easily ( and cheaply ) make fibreglass panels to get the look as long as you're not too fussy abotu panel fit and shutlines and gaps etc
Getting the inside to look like an R34 is a little harder.
If you want both, it's cheaper to buy an R34

You've options to use a donor car to provide the full running gear. Banham kit cars in the UK make a pretty good Audi TT and RS200 copies - EXCEPT underneath the skin it's actually a Rover Metro or Maestro with the panels cut off. BUT it's real cheap. See http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/index....nhamindexf.htm. A really cheap way AND it avoids having to have the car tested !!!!!! If you pay soemone to do the fibreglass panels/tub then expect to have to shell out in the region of 10,000 pounds.

Your other options are to taken an existing spaceframe chassis setup and modify it for the AWD and engine of choice. More complicated, more costly and a lot more work. If you have to pay someone to do the fabrication expect it to cost well over 50,000 pounds

Clearly as most of the effort is tiem in design and fabrication, IF you can do these yourself then you can complete it for a fraction of the cost !!! Materials are REAL cheap for square tubing and fibreglass mat and resin

I want to explain, but then again, I don't. Fine, here goes, in small text: He asked how much a chassis/body cost (very broad description) so E-N joked around by saying no matter how you want it, it'll be so and so dollars, and all houses cost the same, and all pieces of string are nine long... etc. If you get it, it was funny. Classic.
