Viper Dragster

How come I never see any Vipers in NHRA or IHRA?

What rules restrict their entry?

or

Why aren't they put into racing? It seems that 8.3 liters would be the right way to go...

seems strange because there is no real connection between the two.

Because if it was legal and there was some advantage to it, people would have done it already.

I swear, some of you must think that professionals in a big buck sport are idiots.

And I know that, as I acknowledged, but I want to know WHY.

8 liters is always better than 4 (provided the piston dimensions are the same).

Actually there is a top fuel viper that run high 6's but theres a stratus that beats it.. The viper is not a very strong drag car because theres not alot of parts around for them compared to other cars.

The classification would depend on the organisers, for ameture events restrictions are usually simple things like 2.0l or under, or NA cars only because they know nobody will turn up with an F1 car.

I don't know why that should be such a problem, the parts those big power draggers use are hardly off the shelf.
Id say it comes down more to experience with the engines, the big block Chev being around for what 40 years or something has that advantage.
