Green Oil Light Keeps Flashing

I have a 2000 'W' reg Merc C220 CDI and I recently changed the oil myself. Since this I have noticed that on the Dashboard I get a beep sound and then a Green Oil Light comes on for a very short while. The problem is that the LEDs have gone on my dashboard so I cannot see what its says after the oil symbol. Can anyone please help me. Thanks.

Check oil level?
Check oil pressure (look for leaks)?

I don't know if the above is a responsive forum. Still, it's a MB forum and you're more likely to have someone having experienced a similar issue. On UCP, I know a couple of people have mentioned someone they know who owns this car but it's unlikely that they've had the exact same problem, unless it's very common...

My sister has a '95 C280, she'll usually keep me up on what's up with it, but has never mentioned anything like what you describe.

It could be an electrical 'issue' - cars have service interval warnings that are reset by the garage; so it could be a light that tells you to go and pay £100 to have your oil changed at a Merc dealer!

That came on when my dad first got his new trailblazer, so he went down to the dealer. The dealer went and screwed the gas cap on tight and the light went off. Thankfully he didnt charge for his services.

^^ Good point, if the oil filler cap isn't on tight you'd get lower and lower oil pressure as the engine heats up.
