well you save yourself work by buying off-the-shelf

but all "performance" exhaust systems you can buy are rubbish . . . . . . .

compared to hand-made that is .

& pipes are easy to work with , even high-schoolers can build exhaust systems . with some knowledge on the needed sizes you can make something better than you can buy

Other wise, I am going to upgrade the exhaust on my car [1987 Ford Thunderbird LX 3.8L V6] and I had always thought I would put a 40 series flowmaster on my car, but I took it to an exhaust shop and the guy recommended magnaflow hands down. I'm looking to increase my power, but I also want my car to sound good. I don't need a show-boating loud exhaust, just as long as it sounds really good. So what do you guys think as far as your experiences with the two?

[and if it matters I myself am doing a catback exhaust. Is $650 for installiation and parts for a magnaflow exhaust a good price or am i getting ripped?]
flowmaster will be louder the magnaflow will sound deeper just depends on personal preference
