My Automotive Engineering education - Week 1
My first week of Automotive engineering was very tiring but fun
I found out i have to wake up daily at 6:10 am and take the bus of 7:02 and the subway of 8:03.We had a variety of lessons and i got the results of the Maths test.I passed the sucker, just I was one of the 15 of a total of 160 ![]() Anyways, i had classes this week about: Engines Chassis Start n Go: -General Management -Practical skills Maths,Excel and Matlab Short summaries of the subjects: Engines The teacher a middle-aged man seemed pretty nice.He started with explaining some of the genral rules of the school and an introduction to the network of the school. The network is pretty complicated but i can view all powerpoint slideshows shown at home using ftp. The second half of the day he explained stuff about the basic principles of the engine using and displaying parts of an Opel Astra engine. He gave us some formulas to mess around with and some definitions. We also got our first homework. Chassis The teacher was quite young and i didnt like him at all He explained some basic physics(vectors and stuff) which i learned a couple of years back. It ws quite boring to be honest. He also gave an explanation about his subject and what we'll do this semester. Start 'n Go This is the name of our first project. It includes various skills and assignments among which are General management, practical skills and Technical drawing using the Inventor programme and oldschool paper and pencil. We also have to create our first (triple) plannings and do cooperative work.We have to visit dealerships and create a plan to find a way for them on how to save on the APK (Dutch MOT).This programme includes quite a lot of work and time... They also gave an explanation about his subject and what we'll do this semester. Maths,Excel and Matlab. The same teacher as for chassis.I still didnt like the guy He started explainign some Maths i found easy(others in class struggled). We had to do a few sums and stuff. He also gave an explanation about his subject and what we'll do this semester. When i find more time today(probably in the evening) i will explain in more detail what the man thought us about engines. |

Drakkie? is your Uni involved in Formula SAE?
I'm at Wollongong doing engineering and I get to watch that project a bit as I don't quite have the time to contribute properly yet. |
