D, before your submission write a letter to your tutor and copy the department head explaining the loss of 5 from the team and the efforts the rest of you have done to make up and ask if this will be taken into consideration or another opportunity given with a complete team or more time.
Ask for a meeting to discuss asap and get written agreement on what expectation of the project and evaluation procedures will be given the situation which was beyond your control.
That should then give you a clear set of objectives to meet which should be less than before and give you a chance in the last few days/weeks of the project to pull it off.
Take the letter in tomorrow and hand it over FIRST THING and ask secretary to scedule a meeting as soon as possible.
Good luck.

Nothing seems to get done by these lazy F!!!KS... The 1:5 model is only half finished and looks crap because of the "panic-welding"...

To make matters worse the school moved our deadline ahead by two weeks (!)... So i am kind of sure I wont make the year because of this. Here goes my career and 5000+€.
The school won't screw you of you explain the situation properly. And they probably KNOW about the situation, no ? The fact that 5 team members leave the school is completely out of your hand. What was their reason to move the deadline ?

If shit really hits the fan you could probably go to an ombudsman. Oh and try to gather evidence that the other aren't doing anything. Just to cover your ass. Unless they're real friends of yours.

Oh and there's always second term But if you explain everything properly it won't be a problem.

They know about it, but it is kind of harsh over here. They can't give a F**K and say that it is a situation we should learn to cope with, before we hit business-life.

The deadline was moved for very obscure reasons.. They basically didn't tell why. We complained a lot abou it to them, but it leaves them cold.. Believe me I had trouble keeping my fists in my pockets at times.

Well all the deadlines went by unnoticed by them... I have plenty of evidence, that aint the problem...

We always have to write a personal report. Usually it is kind of positive, with stuff like it was a good collaboration and everything.. Now it will not be positive AT ALL. An hour left to the presentation and i feel royally f**ked. My suit is ruined becuse of the rain, the presentation is semi-finished and I am so tired (didnt sleep last night, because of the work load).

Cheers.

It went like hell. The design students started off. They have to cooporate with us, but it doesnt go well. They basically do whatever they want, even though it wont ever work... So during the presentation he presented something new I was quite shocked and had to improvise something... Tomorrow we will hear the results and stuff, but im pretty sure we are screwed

Took a picture of some of our A1 work drawings. From these we created our scale 1:5 model. It has been changed in some ways though since these were printed.

Very quick update. I have been working on this project for 20 hours non-stop now thanks to all the others.

The 3D-CAD drawing is nearing what you can call completion. Im just finishing some of the last "work drawings" which neither of my teammates made.

The ast bits of report are not in yet, because the dude got sick... He should be online now too making it. Tomorrow morning i will have to join it in the bus or the subway.

Im also very sick, coughing up blood again as I did before. Im just going to try and survive this shit.

I wrote a 15 A4 pages report to the teachers, explaining the situation. I hope some of them feel pity and will give me a sufficient. A lot of it depends on it.

When it is finished I will fully post all the results. 3D-drawings, reports and whatever not more.

Goodnight,

Sjoerd

Another update in quick succesion.

This night I have continued working, untill 7 o'clock in the morning. I packed my laptop and drive to the bus. I got into the bus and fell into a very deep sleep (whilst having planned to work some more). The driver woke me up at the destination of Schiedam. Some minutes later I was on school. I met up with the design project leader, to finish everything and to burn it all onto a disc.

11:59 I was running we were running to the other side of the building to hand it over, just in time.

And now sleep finally !

No problem, I now finally realise I never got to post the final results.

Everything we burned onto the CD for the teacher is for download here. All the 3D-CAD drawings, reports, Powerpoint shit, everything.

I got a 5.5, which is the JUST sufficient. Three of the Automotive Engineering students got a 3.02 and the other two got a 1.278 out of maximum 10. Those two are gone now and the guys with a 3.02 were offered a extra assignment during the summer, to get their points. One of them also failed this and is gone now.

The doctor diagnosed me as being overstressed two weeks into the vacation. I was to take absolute rest to recover ASAP, I also had to take various medications. Not what I really expected in this project.

Of the Industrial Design students, one was sent back to China by our government. One got a sufficient and passed this year. And the other four quitted the school.
