Brake Vent question on my MPS / Speed6

After doing a complete wash/wax/polish of the outside of my car, I noticed that the air vents for the front brakes are different from each other. On the drivers side, the air vents are open to let air to the brakes, however on the passenger side, the vents are unopen. They came straight from the factory that way I am guessing. I am wondering why they would do this (if that is the way they designed it). Can anyone shed some light on this?

The vents are located in front of the tires on the tire wall.

It's because the 6 naturally veers slightly to the left, so by closing the vents on the right side it creates just enough of a difference in drag to correct it.



In short, I've no idea.

likely those aren't brake vents at all, but air inlets to your air inlet. in through the fenter, through likely a silencer, then the airbox with the filter. is the filter on the side of the car that has the open vents?

No it has a ram air intake on the hood with the filter right below the intake.

Does it get you from point a to b? If yes, I wouldn't worry about it.

That venting is for cosmetic reasons only, brake ducting to be truley effective needs to be directed towards the disc from the front of the car. The heat dissapation by the fender vent will be negligible

It probably as some use in other models, the diesels or other petrols, besides that i have no idea either...
