Ford aluminum production based V8s
What are the main versions of Ford's production based V8s, namely from the Windsor and Cleveland small block families? And how many of these variations were designed mostly for racing?

The small block engines were mainly the 289, 302 and 351. There was a 260 earlier but i dont know how that figured with the rest. At one point in time there was probably a racing version for them all, but i'd say the one with the most attention paid to it would be the 289 which figured prominently with the Shelby GT350. IIRC the 302 started having more attention paid to it after Ford wanted to go a different way to Shelby.
