gas millage

put down the car you have and the millage u get

please dont put down the ratings the manufacturer gives cuz we all know they're not a good representation of the real thing

just say how many kms or miles u get between fill ups, how much u usually fill that kinda stuff

my 2001 corolla ce gets about 100km for each quarter tank (err not really quarter tank, just a quarter marker indicator on the fuel gage lol) i dont actually do the filling so i cant tell how much fuel gets put in the car

I get anywhere between 55mpg and 35mpg cruising on the highway, depending on speed and conditions. That is according to the little MPG meter on my 944's dash ... surprisingly good.

I use 92 Octane pretty much all the time.

my dad's Escort (the good car) get's 26 and my moms lemon caravan gets a gas guzzlingly 19 MPG, which in my book a car that doesn't get 20+ MPG is a gas guzzler, so the caravan is considered a gas guzzler.

'03 MX-5 gets ~27 mpg, most fill-ups. Worst was commuting thru contruction zone, very stop-n-go: 23 mpg. Best: 33 mpg, hiway with cruise set at ~75.

*Measuring by markings on gauge not always accurate. My first half seems to last longer than last half. Probably an inaccurate float type guage!

EDIT: Requires atleast 89, I use 91. 5-speed and weighs ~2,500 lbs. Pretty thirsty for a little car!!

May be it is good if somebody gives the standard conversion factor to translate km/litere to mpg (either imperial or US or both). There must be one simple coefficient. So I decided that I should be that somebody and this is what i found.

http://www.tdiclub.com/misc/conversions.html

With the Xantia I am getting on average about 16 km per litre, can be 20 but also 13 on high speed motorway driving. (and its diesel). Tank offically holds 65 litres, have seen more than 66 going in, and also covered more than 1200 km on one tank.

My 1.6 16V Clio does 7 liter/100km (33.6 US MPG/40 Imp. MPG). Pretty good considering my spirited driving. That's city/highway combined from my home to university and back. I can get 6.5 liter/100km (36 US MPG/43.5 Imp. MPG) with non-spirited driving tough . Renault says it does an average of 7liter/100km on a combined cycle so it's spot on (If I can trust my onboard computer that is). The thank officially holds somethinh like 50 liters but I never managed to put that much in it. 40 max. I've only got the car 2 months so I can't really comment about it since I never driven it untill it was completely dry.

the mini has been getting 27-28 mpg, and thats with me driving with a heavy foot, but i have had the luxury of long highway drives to help balance out the sprints to work.

last weekend though, i forgot my wallet at home, and was getting gas, with the warning light on, about 60 miles away from home. i started with about a gallon and a half, and made it all the way back, with plenty of cushion. i just drove 50mph in 6th gear, and took it very easy. for that jaunt, im guessing i made well over 45 mpg.

hm im gonna start keeping up with the millage by checking amount of fuel going in at each fill up divided by number of kms traveled before the fill

ill fill to the top each time so i have a fixed point of reference

fuel millage = kms travelled between fillup and last fill up/ amount of fuel put in tank (current) to get to full tank

this would be kms per litre

stupid imperial gallons and us gallons, i dont know which one to use

oh and btw, anyone have tips on how to save gas?
