do you live in:

mountainous terrain, with cold winters?
In a jungle where paved roads don't exist?
or just in another US suburb

i have a subaru inpreza wagon. its alot of fun. 2.2L AWD 5spd and only 2750lbs.
i have go skiing alot and have never needed chains on snow+ice+gravel roads with only all season tires.
its also fun "off roading" . it goes through everything.

there are alot of subarus around here (NW) and they run the whole price range from $1000- to $30000+

How much money can you put in this purchase ?

I think you can buy a BMW 325iX of 1988 (170 hp - 4wd), it is very cheap.

Very true, if you're healthy then you can work at earning the money you want or need

i live in SE Tenn. where there weather is pretty unpredictable. like yesterday; there wasn't a cloud in the sky, and it is about to rain. it has done this same thing in one day on many occasions
