The E30 M3 appeals to me a lot. But I like the 3 series after the E30. I forgot what it's called .

Today changed the engine, the 320i is now a 325i. Still need to run it in, but the difference is allready noticable. Few mods are going to happen in the future. Still, in Belgium it's illegal to do stuff like this, so need to keep it all quite simple. Like this swap, is not that obvious if you open the hood.

hey - BMW themselves sold the car like that, why can't you drive it?

Congratulations on a successful transplant.

Thx, it is a bit the other way around of tuning, normally, first the brakes suspension, and then the engine, but since I've allready got the engine, and my 2liter had a litte problem...

Now I hope that when I need to let the car checkup up (you need to do this every year in belgium) that they don't notice the differant engine, normally not, but with it's extra oil cooling...

There aren't any badges on, but normaly, the ones who check up the car every year won't notice the difference. The only thing you can see is the oil cooler, but still...

My friend has a 325i (E36), with an M3 engine, and everything changed to M3, I wonder what they are going to say about that car...

As for the driving, I'm still running it in, but it does go quite hard now Overtaking a car is absolutely no problem, and I'm still shifting at 4000rpm... When I went to pick up the car, I drove the Golf IV SDI, and on the way home, shifting at 3000rpm, my friend was flooring it in the Golf and he just couldn't get any closer

Little funny story like that...

A few months back, my school rented a local drag strip for the day. The week before, the track officials came to the school to do tech inspections on the cars that would be participating (there were 4 classes of cars competing that day- they didn't want to clog the tech line). One of which was a 318TI with an E36 M swap. The tech guys popped the hood, looked around for a few seconds, said "All stock. You pass," closed the hood and stickered the car. Car ran mid 13's all day long. Stock my ass.

That would't go But most of the time, if you keep the cilinders the same, and the engine was originally found in that car, you have a good chance! But with BMW M POWER on the engine, it is a bit risky.

Thx, I'm probably gonna buy the same alloys but 15" and the center piece in gun metal grey. I like the newer alloys, but I like to keep the car original looks. The next mods are just suspension, lsd and brakes. Then probably the alloys, but I like it with the 14" as well.

They won't. They don't have a clue. The only thing they look at in my car is the brake fluid level or something like that. They wouldn't know the difference between a 1,2 and an RS Clio.

But good luck if you crash the car and your insurance finds out. You're screwed for life. These guys aren't clueless.

Yeah, I know, but it's really not that obvious. But for guys with M Power engine's in a normal car... Then again, before they do investigation, you have to really do something with your car, but that's also the time you need your insurance the most.

My point exactly. They WILL find out when you're in a serious accident. And you won't see your money, probably get banned from being able to get any insurance anymore and you'll be paying for the rest of your life if there are injuries or deaths.

I know it's cool having an engine swap but you need to inform your insurance company. If I were you I'd do some research about this. It's not entirely illegal in Belgium. The problem is that there isn't really any good regulation on this kind of stuff. It's a bit of a grey area.
