Its pretty good. But, what strikes me is the "handbuilt" claim. How many of these engines are sold per annum? Since it is a mainstream car, it needs a lot of workforce to produce all these engines.

Reminds me of the "AMG handbuilt engines" claim.

Ack, just so long as there are some components that are handmade, no need to piss on the bonfire!

Looks nice, very nice indeed... are they bullet holes in the C pillar?!

In the time this car was build Ford made these engines by hand, And i was told that the guy that made them signed them and if they had problems with them he got to deal with it. As the pic shows. But i also think they signed the block to.

There are many designs of the AU front but the XR front on the AU's were some of the best for the AU series, You should look up Tickford TS50 you will like that.

Really, I thought it means that the engine was assembled by hand.

How else do you think these tihings are built? Have you ever been to an engine plant? I guess you think that there are robots that pour components into a big machine and *poof* and engine comes out.

Weren't these engines the last of the old 5.0 OHC Winsor V8's before the new BA DOHC V8's appeared? Bit of a swan song to Tickford engineering if my memory serves me correctly. If I remember rightly, Morley from Motor magazine toured the factory and even helped build one of the engines.
