Look at it this way. In a few days it'll have so many parking tickets it'll get towed. Then the DMV will mail you a letter saying your car is impounded, and it's going to cost you an enormous amount of money to get it out of hock. At least once it's towed it should be safe.

Well you must know the approximate area of where you left it, how many free car-parks can there be in a small area? Either go out to all the car-parks you can find, or call the council and ask whereabouts the free car-parks are in that area.
