Its actually the pulley. You need to put a heatexchanger on that if you plan on putting a smaller pulley on it. They are cool cars and can be made fast pretty easily. I have seen a couple at the track run in the 12's on a radial. Go for it they are a ton of fun.

Isn't the Grand Prix the same as the Bonneville?

While I generally don't like Pontiacs as a rule, if I were to own a late 90s/early 00s model the Grand Prix is the only one I'd consider driving.

So yeah, take that how you will.

My thought exactly.

On to the subject now, the Grand Prix GTP isn't a bad car. How much would it cost? Also consider the size of the engine, a supercharged 3.8L V6 will probably use a lot of gas. We had a 3.4L naturally aspirated V6 in the Pontiac Montana, and it sucked gas like you wouldn't believe. As a student (I guess you are) this is an important factor to consider with the ever-climbing gas prices.

I thought you North Americans didn't care about fuel consumption...

Maybe in the US, but where I am we do - remember we have Smarts and small cars sell very well here. This isn't the case in the US.

well, the price would be around 5000, which is about what its worth. We checked the avg mpg and its not bad, 18 city, 24 highway. And yes Ferrer, we DO care about fuel consumption. There are just a few people who just dont get it, they are the typical stereotypes...

I guess that as you say I got carried away by the stereotype...

Altough almost 10l/100km in the motorway isn't exactly great...
(I know gas prices are different there too)

I think if you like the car you should go for it, search around a bit on the car first, maybe ask your local Pontiac dealer about them

Here are some pics of the '00 Grand Prix GTP
