TVR Pre-Production TVR Sagaris

Hi All

I am afraid I have resurrected a few old threads whilst i was doing a search for the TVR Sagaris.

The Red one in the publicity shots/shows is now mine.
She differs from the Production cars in that she has the open vents, different exhaust (the end cans have also changed but on a mission to find them) different rear end and wingmirrors. She is also painted on the interior not covered in Leather.

I have a few pics, not great admittedly but so you get the idea. The colour is Candy Apple Pearl Red and the colour only shows up under bright lights - hence why it doesnt look as Red as say at the motorshow or at Goodwood.

Of course if anyone has any pics of Candy, I would be grateful if you could send me the hi-res versions

My full profile is available on Pistonheads - username is the same as here - Gaffer.

Thanks again (and I hope I have posted in the right area)

Regards
Claire
PS...where do I go to add thumbnails as some shots are large.

welcome to UCP..

if you want to upload some high res stuff click "advanced" under the posting box and click the attach button in the toolbar (its a paperclip)...and add files to your hearts content. I think most of us are keen to see more of this car.

I have read about these pre production models and would be keen to bring up some questions.

p.s: watch out for -what- asking for egg nogs (thats proof of ownership)...hes our very own fail bot here

Hello and welcome!

Is it the same car that was tested by magazines? Actually, I mean one article I have in our local Autopanorama magazine (IIRC, it was a translation from Planet Syndication). The color seems to be the same.
I will try to find the article and scan the pics.
Cheers!

P.S. TVR is damn best 'Russian' car ever

Faksta:

Some were, some were Mr.Orange and some Mr.Blue.
You can tell mine as the dash is painted Red.

I only have a small selection, most are press photos from the motorshow.

This one is pretty much all I have of my own as I can never get the proper colour and it gets annoying.

Hey, i got a couple' questions...

Open Vents?! Does that not cause a considerable amount of damage to the hood, or even the windscreen?! Any pics of the rear end? i'm desperate to see this! Stunning car.

how much did it cost you btw?

Hi

No, the arches are double skinned and there are dense foam inserts as well, only on the sagaris racers were the arches open allowing stones to flick up.

I have taken the rear-diffuser off to be re-painted so it will look a bit funny, if its still daylight when I get out of work I will take some with my camera phone.

Cost....a lot less than you would think....Less than £40K, as I have serious TVR connections I managed to get a VERY VERY good deal

Chris...yes she is, Thankyou for saying that I cannot even go for petrol without people stopping to talk and take pics...no wonder I am always late.

my question also was debris from tyre onto windscreen. Also the speed6 engine..one that i have always wanted more information about (damn Al Melling and his secrecy)...Is it time consuming and expensive to maintain? i hear that the engine is beuty when cared for, some people negelct how much attention a dry sump lubricated engine like this needs regular servicing, checks to ensure reliability. Do you have a regular garage contact, support plan? or is it much simpler.

Hi,

No, there is no more debris from wheels than from my Chimaera.

The SP6 is much maligned. Yes the early ones had issues no denying that.
She gets serviced every 6k or 6 months - usual TVR schedule. the tappets are done every 12. As long as you warm it up before driving off and check the oil every week you shouldnt have any issues.

I go to a local indie for servicing and never had any issues.
The Chim is a '99 car, I bought 3 years ago on 47K - she has just clocked 106K, changed clutch at 84K and is due a new cam soon as its the orginal one. Only issue..? Door solanoid.

The Sag I have only had since November but so far so good

Claire

PS...Al Melling..? Dont talk me about him... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
