My Peugeot 306 T16 project

While driving on the highway, the oilpump of my 306 Gti6 decided to quit it's job.
The engine was scrap so i started searching for a new heart online.
I found a couple but also found a 405 T16 engine (not the same as the one used in the 205 T16).
I knew that it would fit and after doing some more research i decided to buy it.
The project is not finished yet, some electrical probs
Also, when it's all sorted, the engine will get a nice overhaul
Before:

After (trial fitting here).

The 6 itself

Spoox engine mounts for the T16:

When everything doesn't blow up, the 6 will go from 167bhp @ 6500rpm and 197nm torque @ 5000rpm to 220bhp @ 6500rpm and 318nm torque @ 2500rpm.
@ 6500rpm, aprox. 270nm is left so it should have no problem
Planning to buy a standalone engine management and an intercooler.
It has a chargecooler atm but that thing is using the coolantsystem.
Any tips and suggestions are welcome

AFAIK there was a limited edition road going 405 T16, it was based on the Mi-16 but with variable geometry turbo.

Go lower. How much rewiring did you have to do? Did you have to swap any interior parts or move anything else to make it work? Get a bottle of engine degreaser...

Looks like it was just a trial fit and most of the loom, hoses etc isnt connected. Project looks good and nice choice of wheels. On the intercoller depends if you want FM or on top of the engine, there is plenty of second hand intercoolers designed for TM. FM is far superior IMHO

Yep, Because replacing a broken engine with one that works is a backwards step.

Do you seriously just not think before responding, or is this a concerted effort to annoy me.....

Yep, Garret T25 VAT
People who own a 405 T16 and know those cars inside out told me that with just a Garret T28 VAT turbo and reprogrammed chip, the engine will have an output of nearly 300bhp.
Not going that far yet though.
The 405 T16 was also 4wd.

Lower, i know
Not much rewiring to do actually.
Battery is going to be located in the trunk.
As you can see in the pictures, the turbo is where the battery used to be.
I know i need to clean it up, but it was a trial fit there

Well, the chargecooler sits on top of the engine (not shown on the picture) but as it uses the existing coolant system, it's not very efficient.
My thought was also a FM.
I had the spokes colorcoded.
Dotz makes black versions but there was something wrong with the coating.
The guy from the shop i bought these wheels from wanted to sell me some kind of rainbow wheels.
Kept telling him i didn't want that kind of crap and didn't care if it was trendy lol.

How exactly did i make it worst?

Here's the engine in a 205

From what i know, i'm the 3rd in the Netherlands who does this conversion with a 306 and the first with a 306 phase 2 (the others are phase 1).
205 owners do this conversion often but from what i've heard, i'm the 3rd one doing the conversion with a 306.

Going to replace the standard 6 speed gearbox with one from a diesel.
The 6 speed can handle the power but it's ratio is very short, driveshafts need to be replaced as well.
I know someone who had a 205 T16 and he had spare driveshafts in the trunk since they broke everytime

Very nice car. I read a little about the engine aswell. Pretty nice. What I understood is that there is a 45 seconds overboost after flooring it. Will you use this function or will you kill it?

I can't use the overboost function, something to do with a sensor.
What i want is a standalone enginemanagement so i can still use max power.
Did you also read that the specifications of the 405 T16 are not correct?
The official maximum speed of the 405 T16 is 235km/h but that is not with the 45 seconds of overboost.
After the 45 seconds you can activate it again by flooring it again
Maximum speed of the 405 actually seems to be unknown since the speedometer needle goes beyond the digits and still no rev limiter cutting in.

The 306 is heavier then the 205 but i'm sure i'm going to have fun with it.
I love cars with a potential bomb under the hood.
Having owned 2 Daihatsu Charade GTti's, i'll never forget how people with expensive 'performance' cars looked when they saw the little car passing them.
The ones who followed me to the gasstation, wanting to know what it was, didn't even believe it was just a 993cc 3 cilinder.

I saw this video of a 205 T16 last year, would love to see the faces of the other drivers.
