what exactly is your goal for this thread?

you posted it under user's rides, which is generally reserved for users to post their car and discuss it. i imagine that this should be in the car comparison or general automotive sections.

To add to the disco, or to create one, a guy who owns a z8 told me recently that if the limiter was removed, the car would do over 200. Any merit? Also, he said that the car does 170's with the limiter when I thought all bmw's were governed at 155.

As with most BMW products, its top speed was electronically limited to 155 mph (249 km/h); the car's maximum top speed with an unlocked chip was 186 mph (300 km/h).

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see BMW bending the restriction with a few kph.

The maximum speed of the BMW Z8 is 155.3mph = 250km/h.

The maximum speed of the BMW Alpine Roadster V8 based on the BMW Z8 is 161.6mph = 260km/h.
