350Z - Video - Photos - Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq1QUL2g6rU

After a few months of ownership, I still smile every time I get on the car and turn on the engine. The acceleration still feels awesome and the handling superb. RWD is 10x more fun than FWD, the way the back wheels react to power is just so enjoyable.

My friend who had an 03 Mustang GT and then an 04 S2000 says my car is perfect in his books in terms of performance. 7500rpms redline revvy engine S2000ish, but almost as torquey as the Mustang, according to him it is a perfect balance. From the second you step on the gas you feel the power, and then on top of that, it will go all the way up to 7500rpms…. While having Japanese-performance-car handling and style.

Tripe-digit speeds are smooth; the 3300+lbs that the car weighs sure keep him on the ground at high speeds. The stock exhaust tone is beautiful (see vid attached)

Top speed so far 140mph, it will reach 160mph stock, but I’m not planning on doing that anytime soon. No mods as of right now, I’m looking into an injen dual cai, but it costs around US $400.00, so that’s gonna have to wait a little for now.

Always liked the 350Z. They sound great, the video attests to that. Plus, I really like the color on your Z.

Is it just me, or does anyone think the 370Z look awkward? I mean yeah, it's technically on paper way better in all aspects than the 350Z, but when you look at it, it doesn't look as good as the 350. The headlights are too odd. I wouldn't mind if they went back to the way the Datsun Fairlady looked like.

I do get the profile in the window, but still.

You just described how I feel every time I take the TL out. Awesome to read when people's cars are still putting smiles on their faces.

As for intake, that's cheap bro. Wait until you really start looking at everything else.

I agree, I love the 370 and would have bought one... But didn't have that kind of money. At least the 350 is pretty close in performance, has a VQ35HR, looks pretty good and I paid about half of what a 370 costs.

Thanks I was really surprised after doing my little video of how nice it sounds.

thats awesome man, i love my z too, as for the injen cai, do it, its the only thing ive done so far in 4 months of owning my Z and theres a real difference, i got mine on stillen.com for somewhere around 300 i think and installed it myself which wasnt really difficult at all. It makes it a bit louder, but not obnoxiously so and the acceleration is much stronger especially at mid-high rpms. the injen cai is one of the few to have proven performance gains and its in the area of 10-15bhp. im glad your enjoying your Z as i sure am, especially coming from an SUV lol.

You gotta post a few more photos, we haven't seen enough of that Z yet. As far as the CAI goes, mine is a bit more expensive since it's dual... I can't see to find it under $400.00, and the Z community pretty much already told me that price is about right...

I am totally with you on that one. The other day at the track we saw to 50s, both with suspension, wheels and cai upgrades, as well as a bone stock 70. I def prefer the 50 when it comes to looks, but dang, that 70 was fast.

I had a 2003 350Z that I bought new in 2002. The first thing I did was get a JWT intake & Borla duel exhaust. The sound was beautiful. After I did that it was impossible to keep my foot out of it, I had to hear it all the time. I did many more mods after that, virtually all of the bolt on's & cams and Unichip with a tune on the dyno. The car was fast and a sleeper, it was so much fun. But I had to let her go for family practicality. Miss her. Anyway, Borla!! I am sold on that exhaust for 350Z because it sounds great, not like a tin can, and it does offer significant power gain. After the headers and test pipes were installed it was just a dream and still no freeway drone.
