I'm getting equally sick of karrmann-bashing
![]() There seems to be more whining about Karrmann that he used to do himself to have gained the repuitation for whining. Time to move on guys.

Maybe we should have an "information pack" handed out at sign-up with all the guidelines in.
Some way of forcing people to read it - like asking questions on it before you are allowed into the forums - "What must you do before submitting a new thread?" It could be things like - Always search before posting a new thread It is better to post in an existing thread than starting a new one Car X does not a) kick ass b) suck ass, and no one cares if you think either to be true.

Maybe the FAQ needs updating with a few guidelines and a "Have you read the FAQ ( it is important )" tickbox
Or maybe WE just create a thread and put in our best advice ![]()

True. A lot of forums have those "stickys" but that doesn't mean people, especially newbies, are going to spend the time reading them.
I know most of the time I don't ![]()

a good idea would be to close the threads, but leave them around, so people can look at past opinions. then, people wont be bashed for re-making a thread, and we still can see everyones old opinio, without the fanboys bringing up loooong dead threads.

Guys, sounds like you are trying to keep the forum a little 'closed' to new posters. Everyone is entitled to make the odd mistake when new to something. It's only when they don't learn that something should be said. OK, we don't want the mods to be spending all their time reminding people of the rules but equally, we don't want to scare off new posters by being over-aggressive with them.

My thought on the matter is that if we close old threads, n00bs will just make new repeat ones, and then the members will bash the n00bs for making repeat threads. Then they will rebuttle claiming they couldn't comment on the old ones. I see no proble with reviving old threads. I'm sure we've all done it once, at least.

I think bringing up dead threads is good. I notice that some threads get brought up which were started (and finished) before I joined, so I get to have a say on the subject, and expand the conversation further.
