Video Section

I was wondering whether anyone else thought it would be good to have a video section on the homepage. I have noticed a few other sites have it, mainly sites that specialise in multimedia, but I think it could be good for the site and for the forums. The people who vist the homepage, the more will join the forums. Just a suggestion.

Many times I have thought about that as a good idea. It really is a great idea, as UCP's video collection......is......well.........yeah.

Biggest issue would be COPYRIGHT.

Many other sites flaunt the law with TV captures of races etc.
Cant' see any feasible way for UCP to have a vid section given that Wouter and the team are hard pressed to do photographic coverage of events never mind decent vid too

Yeah very good point. IT could just be a place for people to put the videos they have shot on, given quality and all that stuff. Although it would be very hard to do on, it would b very good.

Worth considering for sure.
But can't the title say that ? And what of events or cars whre both pic and vide are ?? See Knockhill and rally events from moi

PS: for caps lock get "arum switcher" Saves loads of re-typing

well you could always have a thread for the videos and a thread for the pics in different sections, saves searchin through all the pics to find the videos

How abotu if we got Wouter to add a "search for attacment" option and alolow us to find vids or pics ?

The problem is every video thread sounds like "Latest Video of this" and "A video" and stuff like that and its very annoying. And when you go to it you find its either 10 years old or you cant download it and the loading times taking 10 hours.

A video section with properly-labeled videos is in my favor

To properly manage and ensure "quality" wioudl take time adn maybe it coudl only be made availabel to supporting members as the additional income could fund the effort it takes to vet and catalog as you'd like it.

Check out most of the "best" video sites and you find LOTS of old vids popping up again. So even the best dont' get it "right"

it is also a major issue chasing up copyright and handling legal requests to remove videos etc etc.
