Crediting articles

If you must insist upon stealing words from websites, would you at least do the authors/sites the courtesy of crediting their work. I know lots of what is posted is from team sites or press releases and that's fine, but some of it comes straight from sites like crash.net and they employ journalists.

It's hard getting your name out as a writer, so if their name is on the piece please put it at the end of your post. If not, just write the name of the site it came from.

Good idea. It should be the same for images. Give credit, where credit is due.

Interesting. I just this weekend asked a local photographer for permission to post photos a friends A110 in competition at Knockhill. He was MORE than happy to oblige especially as I'd suggested that as well as his watermark on teh imagte I would include a link to his site in the post.

Yeah, that's exactly my point. People will be happy that their work is being posted on websites - I would certainly call it flattering - but not if it is being plagiarised.

just for us to be completely clear; are you referring to articles posted in the forums or feature car articles in the main site database?

I'm refering to people cutting and pasting articles into the forums from websites without crediting them. Or anywhere for that matter, it's not on.
