New Forum Features

Good day,

Recently the producer of our forum software has released a new (beta) version of their product. Although it might not be fully stable, we could not wait to implement as it has some very nice features. The upgrade has taken place and on first impression little seems to have changed. The detail changes are numerous and too many to list. Above all there is a renewed emphasis on the community aspect of the forum.

Some of our favourites:

1. Revised attachment viewing through a "light box".
   
2. Possibility to add tags to a thread so it can be found more easily later.
   
3. Modified user profile page.
   
4. The ability to create social groups.

We think your favourite is the 'album' tool, which allows you to upload a set of images, which can be viewed through the user profile pages. The images can also be linked to a particular social group, so multiple users can contribute to one album. For easy browsing we have limited the maximum size of the images to 600x600 pixels for regular users and to 900x900 for paid subscribers. Subscribers can create as many albums as they want with as many images as they want. The system will automatically resize the images to fit the set limits. All images in the album are viewable by everybody, including non members.

As this is not yet a final release, there might be some problems still and we would like to ask you to report them in this thread, so we can track them down and fix if necessary.

good work. all features are cool, i only find hard to get used to that "light box" function when browsing pics, it's far too popular everywhere and it's problematic when opening bigger pictures (especially in hi-res hideout)

If you double click on the images, I think the light box will not be used and the image will open in a new window as usual.

i tried the new 'light box' thing... you cant scroll through the pics the way you can on other sites, right? or am i just inept?

All pictures work for me, and double-clicking also open the full res, I suppose any issues will be fixed soon, as W said it's still a 'beta' version.

Realy like the new profile options.
About the Lightbox, well ... I usually open pictures by opening them with my scroll wheel in a new Tab (firefox) and that still works. So I haven't got a problem with this lightbox. Although i think it works a bit sluggish.

And whats with the bookmarks at the bottom of every page.
Can you manage those your self ?

ok, that was on my wife's mac... on my real computer it works fine.

but no error, it just wouldnt do anything, it would look like it was loading a new page, then do nothing.

I like everything except the new color of signatures - they look like a message and attract a bit more attention than they should. For me, the grey ones looked way better.
