Layout changes and new feature

Good day,

Today we have made revisions to the layout of our main page articles and added a new feature. The key word is readability. With the advent of ever larger screens and higher resolutions, we felt it time to increase the font of the articles. The specification table has also been redesigned with white space between the sections and an off-color for the left table. Finally we have also added five new headers, to the top of the pages.

Our new Printer Friendly feature makes reading the articles even easier. It allows you to download the car articles as PDF files. These brochure style files include a large image, the first 18 thumbnails and on a separate page the article and spec table. The thumbnails can be can be clicked to show the full size images. The Printer Friendly option also makes printing the articles easier if you don't want to read the in depth articles off a screen. This feature is reserved for our loyal Premium Subscribers.

Please find attached a sample of the Printer Friendly PDF files and two screen shots of the revised layout.

Thanks again for visiting and kind regards,

Wouter Melissen

I was about to ask about the new features.

I know one of the new five headers is the Aston Martin DB9R. What is the Buggati and the rest of them?

And what happens to the older headers? I liked the Peugot diesel Le Mans racer.

Still, I love the forums.

Hey, I'm not seeing any text at all in the articles anymore, just the link to the PDF. Latest version of Firefox on winXP if that helps. The stats table is there, same as it ever was.

The race cars are a Lotus 72 F1 car and a pair of Porsche 917k's.

I think the Bugatti may be this one, but no sure - 1931 Bugatti Type 54 Bachelier Roadster - Images, Specifications and Information

Don't know the Ferrari I'm afraid, but it's a 250 of some description.

FWIW I'm using the same set-up and am having no problems with the text.

The Ferrari is a California Spider (SWB, covered headlamps) with the hardtop on.

And isn't the Lotus a 49?

Yes, my bad. I was confusing with the early 72s with the Gold Leaf sponsorship. 1970 - 1975 Lotus 72 Cosworth - Images, Specifications and Information

I must just be special, my laptop (Vista, Firefox) is doing the same thing. Turns out that the text is there, it's just white on a white background. Encoding makes no difference, default text colour is black... weird.

I have the same problem, so something is definitely wrong.

Cool stuff. The cars in the banners are always awesome.

Just a suggestion- can we have a car in the banner for the day or something?

My text is fine. I dunno about you guys. The articles are all okay.

An Atomic Orange 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 on 360 Forged Spec Multi's with color matched lips and matte black spokes wrapped in Nitto INVO tires. 20x9.5 with 285/25/20 on the front, and 20x12.5 345/25/20 on the rear.

Edit: wheels run roughly $2,000. Each.

If you are having problems reading the text, do a hard refresh -> CTRL-F5 or CTRL-Refresh. It is a caching problem.

If you where a supporting member you would understand why baddabang says "old news". Supporting members have of course known about these changes who where coming up for a while. But for you on the other hand, this is news.

You should try out a membership, and see all the changes that is making a difference, although Wouter is trying as best he can to show it to you. The new headers that you all are talking about, is just a piss in the ocean.

The PDF function is phenomenal. I can't imagine all of the work it took to have all 3070 cars work correctly. I tested it with the 250 GTO because it has a plethora of shots and it's great how the PDF created even has a link to the entire photo page when it can't include them all on one PDF page.

Well done!

I think there's a few other sites out there that will provide you with a PDF of their work for a per piece cost, but this is a great deal considering the cheap subscription cost gets you 3070 articles, and growing.
