Ultimatecarpage.com update (06-13-08)

Dear Ultimatecarpage.com visitor,

At the moment 55 teams are preparing their cars for tomorrow's 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Yesterday and Wednesday they were out on track for qualifying, setting some absolutely startling times. Unfortunately there were also various offs, resulting in quite a lot of bent and broken carbon fibre. Nobody was seriously hurt with the exception of a cat that had a too close of an encounter with a Oreca-Courage. In between the red flag periods, the starting grid was determined and the setups for the race established.
Each evening the action was kicked off by a practice session of the highly popular Group C cars that will be racing on the Saturday morning. The colourful field includes a variety of Jaguars, Porsches and even a Sauber-Mercedes. For many spectators and journalists it brought back fond memories of one of the finest periods of sportscar racing. Very fitting, as we are on the brink of another one.
We have been trackside during every session and could not wait to bring you our familiar post event report. Instead we have compiled a qualifying report and a 60-shot slideshow. After the race has finished and the dust has settled you can expect a full report with many more images from the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans.

24 Hours of Le Mans post qualifying update

Regards,
Wouter Melissen

When were those pcs of Group C taken? I've read J.L.Schlesser name at #62 Sauber-Mercedes C9. Did he drive it? Cause AFAIK he's now somewhere on Transorientale route...

The cars are wearing their original liveries, right down to the original pilot's names. The current owner drove it.
