Worshiped by everyone ColdFusion? Really? Sure you're not really Tony Cochrane there mate? Worshiped? What a bloody laugh. Get a life mate, seriously. And as for fast, put the FG Ford or VE Commodore up against any of the DTM cars around Bathurst and the DTM car would lap somewhere close to under 2 minutes. In case you don't know that's around 8-10 seconds faster than the V8 Supercars currently are doing (2011).

There are a growing number of race fans in Australia (myself included) who are getting sick to death of just Holden vs Ford. It got old 12 years ago but V8 Supercars have been so full of their own importance in the grand scheme of things in Australian motorsport for so long now that they haven't been able to see it.
 Great V8, mate!

These cars are one heck of a weapon. 650hp in a purpose-built bewinged four-door saloon racer on slicks can't pass under any performance car junkie's radar.

BUT the DTM cars would kick a V8 Supercar's ass. Why? Just compare the two and you'll realise that DTM machines have crazy downforce and more extensive weight reduction mods. V8 Supercar aero devices are used for anti-lift rather than outright downforce, as it only adds up to around 200kgs at 300km/h.

V8 Supercars are still somewhat-heavy, powerful muscle cars, so they require skill and commitment to drive fast on a twisting track. But needless to say, in the right hands they are VERY fast and worshipped by everyone in Australia. And rightly so!

In DTM "All dimensions, like wheelbase, are made the same in order to provide equal opportunities without the actual design of the road cars having any influence"

The FG01 probably doesn't have the correct dimensions, much less even a remote chance of beating an Audi or Mercedes. The Falcon was built to race in Australia, where apparently they can't afford to race Mercedeses and Audis. The FG01 is an economy racer, like the Mustang in America.

Why can't the DTM series have cars like this?
