Page 1 of 1 General Motors's Chevrolet Corvette Racing team continues to improve a winning racing machine, the Corvette C5-R, with significant technological upgrades for 2003. With series-wide rule changes limiting engine power in 2003, the two factory Corvettes took full advantage of the engineering expertise of GM Racing to create weight-saving and durability innovations. New cams, with a higher lift and shorter duration, and aluminium cylinder liners and main caps will solidify the Corvettes as cars to beat in 2003.
In the 2003 season opening Sebring 12 Hours race, the C5-Rs stayed on winning form, with the Fellows / O'Connell / Freon driven Corvette finishing first in class and eigth overall. Page 1 of 1
