Page 1 of 1  Launched in 1974, the second generation Elite was quite a departure from previous Lotus models, aesthetically that is. Under the wedge shaped body, the now familiar steel backbone chassis could be found. Mounted longitudinally in front of the passenger cabin was the all-new type 907 2 litre engine, that would power many Lotus models to come. The four-seater body was designed by Giugiaro of Italdesign. In 1980 it was replaced by the revised Elite S2, which featured a 2.2 litre engine. Page 1 of 1 |
