Chassis:
Fitted with a Pontiac V8 and fielded as a Firebird GTP, this SE89P was one of two Spice factory cars for the 1989 IMSA GTP Championship. Piloted by a choice of drivers, it ultimately could do no better than fifth at West Palm Beach that year. For the 1990 season, it was sold to Tom Milner Racing. Now fitted with an Oldsmobile V8, it was driven by, amongst others Paul Newman. With Applebee's backing and powered by a Chevrolet V8, it continued to be raced into the 1991 season. After its contemporary racing career, the car eventually returned to Europe where it was raced for several years in the Applebee's colours as used in the final outings during the 1991 season. The most recent owner restored the car to its 1990 livery as raced by Paul Newman.
