The first of a pair of M10s produced by Matra, this chassis debuted in the hands of Jackie Stewart at the March 1968 Race of Champions. He finished a promising sixth overall at its first outing. During the remainder of the year, it was raced at select events by Stewart, Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Johnny Servoz-Gavin. The best results in 1968 for the car were a fourth at Spa and a sixth in Mosport, both with Stewart behind the wheel. It was pressed back into service early in 1969 when Beltoise finished sixth in the South African Grand Prix. In more recent years, chassis MS10/01 joined a formidable collection of Matras.
