Nowaday, you can swap a 3S GT in this model Supra. It is lighter than the stock straight 6. Also you have room to modify the car. I swap my car and it is so fast. A Viper meant nothing to this!

back in 1989 i had one of this not the hatchback , the coupe and it has a lot of electronics , also comes with independent rear suspension, american makers have to learn a lot from japan.

"He is clueless on the MK2 or second generation supra. My dad has on and the numbers on this website about the car are very reasonably close to the actual. They did not make the MK2 with a auto tranny. All were 5 speed manual. The Supra came with 160 h.p. ""Bone stock"",no way it was 190.0-60 IS 8.3 NOT 7.5 seconds. In his dreams."

Actually your numbers are a little off on these cars. This gen Supra was available from 1982 (which is the year it got import car of the year from Motor Trend Magazine) to 1986. the new gen 3 supra was an 86 1/2 model. Also the horsepower and performance ratings are a little low, as my Supra (85) dynos at about 190hp (bone stock) and hits 60 in about 7.5 seconds. These cars were also available with an auto trans way ahead of it's time, with elec. controlled tranny with power and normal modes and push-button overdrive. These vehicles are highly under-rated, and somewhat rare around these parts.
