| All Good Fun |

"Clarkson was right when he said that this was a road going fighterplane. I've not had the pleasure of driving it, but I have watched it being driven. One of the best, and worst days of my life. More frustrating than Nell McAndrew turning up on your doorstep with a suitcase full of lingerie in one hand, and a copy of ""lesbian today"" magazine in the other. Unless it was for....entertainment purposes. I digress. The XK180 is fast. It's silly. There's no logic in its construction, its design is totally illegal for road use, the windscreen is superb at distorting everything you see, and it's so loud even I, the V8 WORSHIPPER, was close to clutching the earplugs Jaguar provided on the press day. The engine is basically a beefed up, ""goodbye Brussels"" version of the XJR and XKR V8. The power is up of course, but the noise is so much better. It sounds like a natural engine. There's none of that silencing malarkey to get in the way of the fusion of art and aggression in the exhaust of the beast. It's a beautiful car, and one that you cannot appreciate fully until you actually sit in it, and look at all the switches and buttons on the dashboard and centre console. It's a totally pointless exercise, except to get up the noses of the chaps at BMW and Mercedes. The strange thing is that THAT'S the beauty of it. It's a fantastic car don't get me wrong, but it's the biggest ""two fingers up"" salute to the Germans that I've ever witnessed. Except 5-1 of course. Ah what a day that was.""" |

Wow, this is one pretty sweet Jag. Wish Jaguar could've put it int production, a baby brother the XJ220, but still senior the XKR and XK8. |
