The design is not that groundbreaking if you compare it to the Toyota Alphard, Honda Elysion and Nissan Elgrand. But still, it's a goodlooking car, and it would be great to see some of the features used in the new generation of Alphards. |
Give that thing a Scion badge. |

Toyota is known for making somewhat conservative and extremely reliable vehicles, so what is giong on over there? First was the FJ Cruiser, an excellent new take on a classic Toyota. Then came the Yaris, a design that blew away the already forgotton Echo. Next was the Camry. The 2007 model that was recently shown at NAIAS looks more like a Lexus than a Toyota. I know that the F3R is a true concept, but why not give it a Scion badge and make the hybrid powertrain an option (similar to what Honda does with the Civic). I know that the hybrid would be quite expensive for the Gen-Y crowd, but I can say first-hand, many of the Scion buyers are much older that 24. Either way the F3R has a destinguishing look that could become a success in America with a few changes (like getting rid of those "show" doors), not to mention a great market abroad. |
