Best colour on a Gallardo....yet!

Check this out... a maroon gallardo! looks good eh? :cool: before, i though that orange was the best, but after seeing this... i think that the gallardo looks better in this colour.

yea i must agree the dark blue is my fav, I saw one while I was driving around Miami Beach and was too stunned to snap a pic as it sped by..

Saw a beautiful Murcielago in metallic turquoise at MPH'04 a couple of weeks ago. Hope they do that colour on the Gallardo too. Will try to dig up a pic and post it here.

probably the 40th aniversary murcielago your speaking of (below). they wont put that color on the gallardo cuz its just for the aniv edition murc.

Cheers SPH! Yeah, it looks like it was the 40th anniversary Murcielago I saw but (and no offense to your photos) it looks so much better in the flesh. I read somewhere that this Murc. has 3 layers of paint - all slightly different shades. Got any more details?

no offense taken, i did not take those photos. it is not uncommon for certain cars and especially paint jobs to look a ton better in person. as to the three layers of paint, it may have a base, a pearl or mettallic coat, and then a clear coat. is that what your thinking of? theres info sumwhere on UCP im sure but im too lazy to look for it. just search for it in the bar up at the top of the page.

EDIT: imo, the gallardo is great in everything but black, which is looks "good" in, but not great. it does give it a mean look, but i find it covers up certain details, such as the series of vents on the shoulders right above the tail lights. it also covers up the black grills in the back as well as air ducts in front, which lighter colors make stand out and look really good.

I still can't believe how unfortunate the front end of this car is. The back is absolutely drop-dead supercar gorgeous and perfectly shaped. In my books, it could've easily been one of the best-looking cars ever, but because of the front end alone, I'd call it below average.

in the end of November there was a small motorshow where i live. it was there at the lambo stand that i saw a gallardos in Maroon & orange , murci in lime green & red barchetta for the first time. the gallardos had transparent engine covers, like the 360 spider, which gives a full view of the engine. last year i saw the Murcielago 40th Anniversary edition. its colour is the best of all the other lamborghinis.
