The Mondeo is for the British T1 touring class, proposed by Motorsport mogul Jonathan Palmer's Motorsport Vision.
The cars will be modified from standard cars, with a max engine size of 2.0 litres + turbocharger and power cap of 275bhp, with a button providing an extra burst of 50bhp for six seconds.
Other cars could include: Jaguar X-Types, Alfa 156s, Honda Accords, Mercedes C-Class
The SCV8 touring class sounds like much more fun - a silhouette series with the cars using identical 3.3litre 550bhp V8s. The body shell is made from the original manufacturers panels, so none of those huge, silly wings.
So far Jaguar, Peugeot and Vauxhall are signed up with Honda keen as well.
Imagine V8 Supercars, but with BTCC style aggression.

I was wondering that too, that would kick ass. I think they should have a celeb racing league. Clarkson vs Needell vs Hammond vs James thingy vs VBH vs Quentin Wilson vs that stupid hairy man in 5th gear.
