Peugeot new boy Markko Martin got his first taste of the 307 WRC this week, testing on the former 'Saint-Bonnet le Froid' stage of the Monte Carlo Rally.

However it all ended in tears, with markko's test having to finihsh 30 mins early because he fliped the car on its roof. Markko didnt want to say anything to the press accept he has had a good test in the car and they tested everything including the roll cage on the test :p

He did say that there were a few places that could be improved on but wasnt allowed to say much moredue to contract details

Markko "can't drive" Martin back up to his old tricks again?

What is up with him? He made loads of silly little errors during the last part of the 2004 season, visiting various ditches etc.

I'm sure that I heard the commentators saying he wasn't confident of his pace notes - that can't still be the problem, shirley?

He had have some trouble with Malcolm Wilson (fords rallyesports chief) since mid of last season. Thats why he went to Peugeot and signed the first contract there (before Peugeot said they will retire after 2005). After Peugeot said they will go out of rally he signed his real contract for 2005.

At this first test with the Peugeot he had two crashes: at first he crashed into a dog which runs over the street. The car had to be repaired over midday and in the afternoon he had the crash you can read above. So not a good testing day for him and Peugeot...

haha

Its the Peugeot, its sh!t. What a dumbass to move from ford to peugeot! Obviously hes trying to go as fast on tarmac as the focus, but in the 307 which is impossible.

haha no lets get this right. A deer ran out into the road and Martin was going too fast to respond in time, so he crashed into a ditch with minor damage. He carried on for the rest of the test session before rollling the 307 just half an hour before the end, so not much time wasted.

lmfao dayumn, so so fugly, well Markko, u should have stayed at Ford. Bloody idiot. Isnt it true that if Ford leaves WRC, then a possible chain reaction will occur that will cause the WRC to implode?

No, thing was that ford offered him a "possible" contract really late in the year when they werent sure still if they were going to continue, so he thaught best to go to peugeot and be safe for a year.

I personally think that he will probably end up going back to Ford after 2005 :) which i would like to see

Coventry - the reason that he has made these little errors is because he is constantly on the limit, he is always going flat out, take WRC Gb for example there were 3 or 4 near offs.

Blitz - If ford left the WRC i dont think that it would "implode" its just like Citroen leaving, they are currently top by wuite a way, i think it would make more of an impact than fird at the moment

has anyone got this pic in a bigger res ? (martin again :p)

Well i apparently read taht ford will have a great impact becuase they contribute a lot more in terms of funding, sponsors etc.

so more behind the scenes type of stuff, rather than filling in a spot
