Who wants an Evo 8 what is an evo7?
Mitsubishi's Lancer Evo IX will go on sale early next year, with styling modifications to make it more closely resemble the 2004 World Rally Championships contender and to smooth out some of its less aerodynamic edges.

Entry-level '280' models come first, with power up to 281 bhp from the current 260 bhp starting point, and all standard Evos will receive revisions to their suspension, all-wheel drive system, traction control and electronic control systems to give a lower centre of gravity and ever-sharper handling, as experienced in the Evo VIII MR 360. There is also talk of an aluminium bonnet to reduce front-end weight. Mitsubishi is hoping that the Evo IX will revive its flagging fortunes in the USA in particular, taking on the popular Subaru Impreza WRX; US-market models are to gain a new active centre differential.

IMO, the body of this evo 9 needs to be a more radical. Is this a chasis test do you think?

I think that looks exactly the same as an Evo VIII. Save the lower grille.

Hopefully thats just a test with an old body.

wow. That Impreza looks sweet! The evo 9 has what looks like a very similar grill as the evo 7

The most radical part of the Evo 9 is the rear. It has a very visible underbody splitter making the bootlid and most of the rear look more "planted" as it should be.

That'll be a test chassis, before the VIII release, to test aerodynamics on the front grille, obviously that design proved less effective than the current one. Rest assured, the evo IX will have very obvious new design features.

Photoshop on a magazine? VERY unlikely...

Maybe he meant the magazine themselves done the photoshop or similar. Its quite common for magazines to come up with a CGI of a masked up car seen on some road or track doing development miles

Its not very smart to fool your readers with the report of a new car when infact it doesnt exist. People will get angry and not buy/unsubscribe it.

A photoshop, probably yes.

"Artists" often use photoshop and print the image out in the mag, to show the reader what the car will probably look like.

Also Spyshots are developed into a visual image of what the car will look like.

For example, in Autocar they had some spy shots of the ferrari 430 with its black tape all over it, and they then created a image of what the car would look like, and i can tell you now it looked 99% correct.

Seriously, are you nuts?

Auto Express has nothing but photoshops and "aritist impressions" of new cars.

It is much more likely to be a photoshop than a photo of the actual car, seeing as how manufacturers like to keep their new cars highly camoflaged during testing.

The only magazines I can think of that don't have photoshops in are magazines from the days before photoshop.
