View Full Version : need help from anyone who knows their late midevil history

ok, i just simply want to know who/what family/what country were controlling the areas over present day germany from the 1400s to the 1700s (the prussian unification). thanks to anyone who can help.

EDIT: for clarity purposes, what i meant was i want to know the countries or the names of the kingdoms that was/were leading the area of modern germany.

I would consider that time range a we bit after the "midevil" times.... but Rome.

Rome never had control of the Germans, but as far as who ran the show in the Vaterland. The Vaterland was never fully united until the reign of the Kaiser's started.

As far as i have learned in school :
there were many small kingdoms, led by a bishop or king or knight or someone else with blue blood.The country was a bit of a chaos back then, cos there were small wars between these kingdoms.Some of them wre small, some as large as a current day German province...

hope this helps.it's all i know of german history before 1900.

Yeah, when King William of Normandy took control of England, he started the Feudal System. A cunning plot to get soldiers to work for him. Need I say more?
