Turns out he and I live in the same town... I met up with him today after work and he is SUPER COOL. He took me for a ride in his Viper and then, he even let me drive - VERY AWESOME.... anyway, here are some pics that I took after the drive...

EDIT: I know you all wanted to see my Nissan Pathfinder (in the background), but for some reason the camera wouldn't take any pictures of it - it would only let me take Viper pictures, LOL...

it was awesome to say the least. I didn't wrap it up or anything - I left that to it's owner... who did mash the loud pedal a few times... most excellent... been home almost two hours and I'm still grinning from ear to ear :D

I'm working on getting the pics sized, so be patient, more are coming...

I do... I've got my friend Dave's Stealth R/T Twin Turbo in th garage, which is suffering from a blown engine... I've got my friend Dave's old, beat-up, rusted ass Chevy pick-up. I've got my Stealth R/T Twin Turbo, my Pathfinder and the wife's Neon... quite a driveway full...

question: i know the srt-10 handles amazingly, but what about the other vipers? skid pad, slalom, track times (with corner speeds) if possible.

what about just excelleration?

my dad got to teach racing in a viper, and lotus invited him to a track day to test the new esprit (when it first came out) along with some other instructors

Man a '93 Viper, thats going to be classic someday, not that it isn't already but I mean down the line, what are the two most valuable cars of any model year/range? The first and last production years.

In Road and Track Specials of 94 they took the Gen I to Willow springs here’s what they said:

"We're not just talking straight line stuff here, either. Through the nine turns of Willow Springs Raceway, the RT/10's cornering grip was phenomenal in a race-car kind of way."

Lateral accel on a 200 ft skidpad is .96

Didn't give lap times

I really like how it handles just make sure the tires are warm and its not wet. :)

Thats probably its strongest point. Most people who take it to the drag strip hit mid to low 12s. I here the record is a 12.0 flat with stock everything (including tires). It has a lot of Torque 465 lb-ft.

Its a great car but it is far from perfect I was telling Roy about the cars interior. Horrible plastic everywhere. Also the gear box sucks you can miss third (among other gears) very easy. But I still love her.......she's my baby :) :)

Thanks to all for the kind words about my car. :)

It's nice to see enthusiasts connecting so easily via the internet. That, after all is said, is what forums are for!

Cheers! :D

one thing i love about vipers. upgrade a viper properly, and you can have a sub-9-second quarter mile. thats sick.

I believe GTOs regularly sell for around the $10M mark. Well, not regularly because you have a hard time finding someone willing to let go of one. But, when they have, they've sold for around that much.

nopassn
01-20-2005, 04:16 PM
There was one that was sold from a private owner to another individual in November of 2004 for 10 million and some change...

EDIT: Just to clarify, we're talking about 62-64 250 GTOs. Not the '84 GTO, which is still wicked cool...

yes, that's true, I do have some good luck - that combined with the fact that early93viper is one hell of a cool guy...

as for the speed limit, the highest speed limit on any road in Kansas is on a 4 lane divided highway, with paved shoulders, and it's 70 mph.

http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showpost.php?p=32426&postcount=8 F40 at Knockhill. Sat in it, mulled over the engine with the owner, raced him on track.
You can keep the sunny California and Australian weather, I'll take rainy days at knockhill and sweet cars :)
The Lambo http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showpost.php?p=32428&postcount=9 crashed and we've not seen him back on track since. He does turn up to pose regularly though :)

uh, yeah.... not only did I get to sit in the F40, but I also got to go for a ride... it was AWESOME. The particular F40 I rode in had upgraded engine management software, LM spec turbos and straight pipes in place of the factory exhaust. It was awesome when he was warming it up and it shot flames. Once it was warmed up, we took it out and man what a ride. running it all the way up to the redline it was truly amazing.

yo Ron Burgandy, i think you used to own one of those, but din't you lose it in a poker mach lol
(I like Anchorman)

but that is a cool ride, early93viper

I know I like the early Vipers the best, but I don't know why.

but there seems to be aan as old as sportscars running in my family.

my mom is as old as the Mustang
my brother is as old as the Viper Concept
I'm as old as the production viper.

sheesh, I have cars ruhnning all over my history and family!!! lol

but that's probilly why I like the old Vipers so much probilly the same reason why my Mom likes 64 1/2 Mustangs, because both of those cars share our birth years

Sure, a used SRT-10 is already down to the mid 50Ks. With the new coupe coming out they will probably go down more. Buy the time your 26 (your 15 now? ) they will be well into the 30k. Plus you won't lose money on them. Specialty cars usually go down in price for the first 10 years then stay about the same price for 5-10 years and then go up in price. If you buy it 10 years from now and then keep it another 10-15 years, then sell it. In theory you could actually make a profit on it........in theory :) .
